Licensing portfolio

Monte has licensed celebrity IP into games and taken games from one market to another, in both directions. These are the deals and titles he has worked on as a licensing and business development lead. Rights belong to their owners.

Case studies

  1. Celebrity IP into a mobile game

    Gordon Ramsay: Chef Blast

    The challenge
One of the most famous chefs in the world had no mobile game of his own, and a name that could not afford a weak one.
    What Monte did
Monte licensed Gordon Ramsay's IP through CAA, then brought in Outplay Entertainment in Scotland, the studio behind Castle Creeps, a game he had already licensed. He co-designed the game with Outplay, which developed and published it, under a three-party agreement put together in about six months.
    The result
Chef Blast shipped as a puzzle game built around Gordon Ramsay, and its revenue came to roughly ten times the license fee.
  2. Licensing a legend, twice

    Bruce Lee

    The challenge
Bruce Lee is one of the most recognized names on earth, and the family business that manages his legacy is careful about how he appears.
    What Monte did
Monte negotiated directly with Bruce Lee Enterprises. Around 2017, while at iDreamSky, the exclusive China publisher of Temple Run, he brought Bruce Lee into Temple Run across all of its global versions. In 2026 he licensed Bruce Lee to Hunan Caohua Interactive for 《街机快打》.
    The result
Bruce Lee ran in Temple Run worldwide, and the 2026 license brings him into a new game with new gameplay and his endorsement in its advertising.
  3. Cross-border licensing and market entry

    Global hits, new markets

    The challenge
A game that succeeds in one market needs the right licensing partner, local publishing and approvals before it can reach players somewhere else.
    What Monte did
Monte licensed titles including Toy Blast, EverMerge, Monument Valley, Gardenscapes, Homescapes and Sonic Dash into the Chinese market, finding the partners and negotiating the agreements.
    The result
These games reached a new audience, some under local names such as 快乐点点消 (Toy Blast) and 合并童话国 (EverMerge), part of more than fifty titles licensed across borders.

Game art comes from Monte's original licensing gallery, mostly the China release artwork. Titles without it show official store artwork from the App Store, Google Play or Steam. Rights belong to their owners.
